I like the first one. What is that path made of? Looks almost like a tree trunk.
Might want to brighten the shadows a bit.

The colors in #1 are nice and rich, Don. Agree with brightening the shadows a little.

I like the second shot a lot. I like all the vertical lines, and the way the water looks like a path through the grass. I think I'd like either a bit more sky or none at all though.
