You know, this is pretty cool. I would layer blend to lighten the trees just a tad. But it is quite good the way it is. Maybe the couch is just a bit too small, but that does enhance the mysterious majesty of the trees.

I love the over all composition but agree the couch could be just a touch bigger. In a way it looks like a composite? The couch is so sharp but the surroundings seem softer and a little noisy. You have a spot of some sort just in front that I think you should clone. I think it is a great piece of work and yes art.

    Vandelay?

I like the coach small. Provides a sense of scale.

I second the urge to lighten up the trees, but fantastic shot nonetheless.

Cant help wondering is it a serious work or just a prank, either way it was worth a shot. Looks. like the light conditions were not at their best when this was taken.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

    Re: Art?

So I said couch bigger, but dray observes it is good small. I agree with that. Minx wonders whether it is a prank. Maybe, but only if it is a photomanip. It could be of course, but my shot of the feral tv makes me think it could be real. If it is fake, well, pox then...

    Re: Art?

    Thanks very much everyone.
The darkness/brightness of the trees was important to me here as they would play a large part in the mood of the image. Unless all our monitors are the same there was a danger that they might well come over as being too dark.
On my own Mac the trees are pretty dark but not without detail and they allow the couch to make it's statement and take main stage if you like.
I liked the smallness of the couch as I feel it's size added to it's isolation in the strange and dark damp evening.
Greg I missed that white spot you correctly referred to and as you say it can be got rid of easily.
I don't know whether it was a prank or serious; it was just there and that aspect does not bother me anyway as it provided the potential for what might possibly be a half decent photograph.

Tom I do like it and think it is an excellent photo. What is the object just to the right of the couch?

    Hello Greg
The attached will explain. Taken perhaps a half hour before the first one I posted. I actually prefer my first submission.
Thanks for your interest Greg and it's great that you are up and running.

Very interesting shot .. all the praise that others have said, but I do agree that the couch may be a tad bit small (you could have also named the post "Small".) You could crop in a little and still maintain the nice composition you have.
