    Armistice - Remember the Fallen

Hi all .. forgive 4 photos but this subject is just so important in my view. Today I went to Westminster Abbey where each year a "Field of Remembrance" is set up for Armistice Day. A little cross emblazoned with a red poppy is erected in memory for each of the fallen. There are so, so many. Too many. And each one someone's lover, friend, spouse, child, parent. Although these are British, almost every country remembers the best of their youth who were slaughtered and damned.

Whoever reads this before 11am on November 11th, spare a thought and a prayer for those of your own nation who paid the price.

    "Lest we Forget"

The photos are: a: To the unknown soldier, b: an almost abstract pattern, c: an old soldier searches for the names of his fallen friends, d: a quiet prayer.

Well captured Mike ; I think each one of these is excellent in it's own way. My favourite is the second one (excellent pattern jobbie) and the first one is not far behind (great use of depth of field).
The third one is extremely moving as is the fourth one.
Very lovely reminders but also of how well off we are.

Nice patterns, nice angle, nice exposures. I think the two at the top work best though the people in the shots doesnt seem bad (they might overwhelme the little objects however).

Re: Armistice - Remember the Fallen

I first saw these over in the gallery and just had to come over here to say that I loved them. Very appropriate post for Veterans Day. These photographs are very moving and technically very well done. Number 4 to me is the one that seals the deal very nice image. Thanks for taking them and sharing with us here on PR.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Mike, all of these really capture the essence of the moments. Good post. These men and women are our brothers and sisters who have sacrificed for our countries. We hold them in our hearts and love them eternally . . . .
