    The arboretum no.1

Here is a first picture of a series I have shot last week end. I am considering submitting some of these pictures (including this one) to a national contest.

    comments are welcome

This is very nice Seb. I like the different hardness of the shadows. The colored background is a distraction for me- I'd say either eliminate it or desaturate it.
    Good work.

This is an interesting shot...I'm assuming you'll be posting more, since this is arboretum 1...I'll be curious to see your others.
I think this would be a much stronger image though without the slice of color on the righthand side.

I like it, Seb. Not sure of your intent but the textured surface of the tree and the shadows would be pure abstract were it not for the grounding effect of the strip of background color. The overall effect, for me, is a subtle abstract-like canvas with no doubts as to what I am looking at. I think it is a better comfort level in viewing this type of image - at least for me...

    Very enjoyable.

The textures, shapes and shadows make a very nice abstract with a mysterious tone to it. I agree about the slice of bg on the right and I think just desaturating a bit would suffice. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
