    any potential here?

This shot is haunting me somehow. I keep coming back to it every now and then as it appeals to me somehow.. The unusual scene of a blimp passing low over this home surrounded by landscape and foliage attracts me, does anyone feel this has any potential? Shot with a 500 mm

There are a few things you could try but I'm not sure they result in that much improvement. One that does help is a levels adjustment that puts some highlights back in the foliage and grasses. I like the way the grass looks then waving in the wind.

One problem with the composition is that it is about half sky and half foliage and other stuff. I think reducing the height of the shot can give some improvement by removing either the water ( which I don't think is really necessary for the theme of the shot and may be a distraction) or about the same amount from the sky to just a little above the airship.

Part of the problem may also be that the dirigible is leaving the scene. It would be stronger if it were coming toward you.

Chunk has said it all, especially about the blimp leaving instead of arriving.

Other than that, your cat/avatar keeps zapping me and I feel my life energy being drained!

    Thanks Chunk,
I think your right about cutting down on the height of the shot. When I crop about an inch off the top, it looks better. Levels adjustment would help, but then I don't like the way the airship looks after doing the slight adjustment. I may go at it selectively. Yeah, this blimp was heading towrds the house then turned around rather quickly before I could set up the tripod and then started heading off as I finally snapped off a shot.
Tuna, Thanks. I appreciate your time to comment.

it is kinda interesting, just because you don't see this that often ( or I don't ! ) I agree that the water is a distraction......I usually like water, but not in this shot, I like the foliage more, all the different heights and the different colors... and when i view it without the water, it lets me focus more on the foliage and the blimp

This has kind of a funny SCI-FI look. It's too bad the blimp wasn't bigger and closer to the house.

In the spirit of Chunk's car parts post, here is my one and only blimp photo...

I think selective adjustment would be the way to go at this one, as I can see how it would affect certain aspects of the picture unneccesarily if you did an entire levels adjustment.
I am not concerned with the water- it doesnt do anything for me in a negative or positive way, so if you like it, leave it. I think maybe a small crop at the top would work.
Overall I think this is different, and interesting and nicely framed.
    Great!

Clicker. . .yes, the scene is one that seems odd or not typical to say the least. I can understand your comment about the water being a distraction. . .still not sure how I feel about that.
Villenadecorte, glad you see as I see it about a levels adj. I believe it could benefit from one as Chunk stated, but selectively. Thanks for your time.
LavaLamp, You hit it on the head. Sci-Fi look to it. Thats exactly the feel it gives me which is why I keep coming back to this one in my files. It has a weird sci fi feel and it intrigues me.
I like your blimp shot. Thanks again.
