    Another try at a flower

I probably used the wrong speed film, 400. But this was at the end of a roll, left over from very hot day on the golf course. Is it better than the Daisy?

These look fine. Nice colors, nice focus. Getting a little closer in would help though. Or cropping the full sized image.

nevermind, you can't see the pictures when you're posting so I forgot about it. Getting closer...take that part out of above

The second one looks soft, but I do like the DOF. I like the colors and yes these are better than the daisy. BTW which Golf course were you playing...

I almost always shoot at 400, so don't thin there's anything wrong with that. However, closer would be better. The exposure on the yellow lily would benefit from spot metering off the yellow of the flower. It would underexpose your BG, and make the flower pop.

I play at BEAA. When I get to play. Not as much as I would like. I read that 100 speed was most photographers choice. I have always struggled with 100 though. I've always had good luck with 400. Will 400 be good enough for enlargnents? And how big of an enlargement can you get without gettig grainy?

I have used 400 for enlargements of 8X10 very easily and the grain doesn't seem that noticeable. As long as you expose properly then you can enlarge even more with no real effect on grain. 400 is a good all round speed film. I have used it a lot, because that is what we used in my photo classes. 100 is better suited outside on sunny days. You will notice less grain in 100 speed films, because when you bump the speed in film you will always see more grain.

I used to play at BEAA as well, but haven't been there in 3 years I would say.
