Well, it seems like a lot of us took photos of the moon last night. Here's my take. This was taken on a whim, actually. I was walking back to my car after taking some other shots, and looked up and saw the moon looking rather small (but just about full) through the tree-tops. I decided that since I had my camera and tripod out, I'd take a shot. Here's what I got.
There are a few things about this shot that kind of annoy me, but conversely, there are some things that really intrigue me as well. I'll start with my negative critique first. I don't like the fact that the moon is not clearly recognizable. The photo takes on sort of a suggestive element, which I guess in the end, is not really a bad thing. I just wish the moon was clearer. I also wish that there was more happening here other than just branches and the moon.
I do like how this shot moves from pitch black on the left to bright on the right, with the branches surrounding the moon like hands. It sort of gives it an eerie, spooky element which is pretty cool. I'd like to see what this looks like 11x14 or 24x36.
What do you think of this shot? Am I seeing things that just aren't there? I HAVE been known to do that ocassionally. LOL
