    Ancient and Modern

    My first attempts at 'planes.
Not so modern though, just up to WWII

The Vickers Vimy is a replica of the WWI bomber in which Alcock and Brown made hte first transatlantic flight.
Only just faster than the wind and more like a squadron of box kites in close formation than an aeroplane

You'll recognise the U.S. WWII planes I expect.

But perhaps not the De Havilland Rapide. I flew in one at an air show as a child and was delighted to see this example still flying.

    How did I do?

I like 'em - proabbly #2 more than the first. They aren't as compelling as some of your best car work, but maybe if you cropped them, it might bring our more detail. Here's one I just shot that might go with your WWII bomber - not a great shot, but it's a fixture in the town in which I grew up.

    Re: Ancient and Modern

As my first airplane shots, I think I was lucky to get these.
I need a longer lens, I always need a longer lens

I'm unsure about the propellors, I've not looked at enough other photos to see what is preferred. Blurred, but visible, blurred to near invisibility, sharp, stopped and frozen in motion?
