    "American Soldiers Killed In Iraq"

I am not claiming this image to be a photograph, but at the same time with the invent of the computer I think photos are no longer what they seem, and can be made with other then a camera, I was once told "if you want to take a photo, you need a camera", not true any longer, so I do consider it a photo that was produced by me with my computer.

I'm only posting the link to my image because I am not sure if I should place it here on your forum without asking. It is an image of American Soldiers Killed In Iraq from March 20th thru December 15th 2003. Please take a look at it and tell me if you feel it honors the men and women who gave all and, at the same time makes a timely statement.. I'm torn with mix feeling about it. I am a Marine from the Vietnam War (Grunt). I will place it in the forum only if you give me the go. SSG Hooah

To me this piece is more illustration than photo because of the graphic elements added, the arrangement of multiple exposures together to form the shape of Iraq, etc. The photos themselves are just standard issue portraits AFAICT, which sort of homogenizes them (i.e. takes away their individuality in some sense).

But it's interesting nonetheless. Certainly food for thought, contrary to the fluff the media feeds us.

    I would recommend....

I would recommend that next time you post the image itself, rather than a URL. It kind of hints at spam. That is probably the reason for the lack of responses. If you need any help doing so, feel free to email me.
I look forward to seeing more of your photography.

Thank you Brian I will upload my image for discussions soon, as you saw from viewing the link I never get much real feed back. I think this will be a chance to get input from people that count. I wanted to upload the image from the get go, but I was not sure how your community would view my actions without asking permission.

    No Worries,,,

    This is your community too!
    Welcome!
I think though too, like the other poster said, this image is more of an illustration than a photo, which is probably another reason for the lack of responses.
    Good Luck!

It' not "more like a illustration" it IS an illustration.

Do you want critique on it? If so I don't know if this is the place to get it. There are photoshop/digital art sites out there where people do this sort of thing all the time. They might be better prepared to give you constructive critiques.
