    Am I happy or what?!

I went totally Manual for the first time today!
I set my own shutter to 1/100 and aperture to 2.8.
I even adjusted my flash exposure! Thanks for that Gary! (Didn't set my camera exposure, wasn't sure how).
    I AM SO HAPPY!!!

Good for you Alison! I've had my new Nikon on manual, forcing myself to learn. And it's so exciting to get it right! I know how you feel!

    Alison,

Great shots...kids are always wonderful to shoot. I hope you didn't feed that child McDonalds however One tiny nitpick, keep the full head in the picture and it's great!

    Well done,

    Jared

    Alison,

My only critique is that you need to keep all the head in the photo or crop severely, what I'm trying to say is it would need to be in portrait and nothing but face in the picture. Hope that makes sense.

Cute children but I think the chap is getting a little fed up with mum taking photos LOL

Great work Ali! These two are cute beyond words! I like the DOF in the first one, and the facial expression in the second is priceless! Other than the whole head in the frame thing these are wonderful!

Re: Am I happy or what?!

Well, I have to chase him all round the room to get a photo of him. So composition is completely out of the window.
Plus I am EXTREMELY limited for space in my house, and I am talking about 5ftx5ft floor space. I think my kit lens gives me much more in the frame without me having to step back.
Also I was just practising bouncing my flash off the ceiling as opposed to the walls which give off a yellowy glow. I was aiming for more natural skin tones.
I'll get there in the end I am sure.

I am just so over the moon about getting a nice clear pic of my babies.
