Dreary winter has me home-bound and itching to shoot something, anything.

Not my type/style of photography so I'd like to get some feedback.

i like this, but I feel that it would work much better with a bright white background so that the feet would stand out more in their color.

Like the idea and the technique is the pro level we would expect from you, but you might want to try a different angle. The elements seem flat and disconnected to me. Maybe from the side?

You could try balancing the cookie half in the mouth to make it more dynamic. By the way where are the tonsils

With the weather in the UK at the moment I know what you mean. Last night I was experimenting with light painting .

The shot is fun and amusing. Reminds me to try new things at home on a rainy day.

Is the color range lacking in a true white? Maybe a slight bump in brightness/contrast would do it but I don't know if it's important.

Could be / probably. Originally shot slightly underexposed then brought up with levels/curves to the point that the whites wouldn't be overblown. Could be that's why it may look "dirty white" A printed version would most likely need a lightness/contrast boost as you had suggested.

Not sure the head on angle works best, but dont know other angles would be better w/o seeing them.

I can see several possible experiments via post-processing:

- It seems to not have any defined space. I'd first try darkening the edges a bit. This might pull the objects together in the photo.

- Another expt would be to copy the mouth and the cookie separately and paste them onto a white background, then add drop shadows. Might create a contemporary effect.

- How about the same shot from the side but with the mouth thing coughing up some bits?

#1: You point is well taken. When I shot it, I was actually thinking of mounting in a black mat frame to get a similar effect.

#2: Good point. I'm not that good at computer manipulation. I'm more of an in-camera guy

#3: That's a good take - I'll have to see if I can get the teeth in the right angle.
