    all lined up

Been getting some inspiration from some of the things that people are trying and just feeling refreshed artistically...working on some "body abstracts" again...for an upcoming anniversary present...wondered what your thoughs are on this...originally taken in color underexposed to get the warm tones of the skin and cropped, adjusted the red levels and boosted the contrast, also applied unsharp mask. Any thoughts feelings suggestions or questions...Thanks sorry for the out of "focusedness" hard to handhold a shot at 1/60th at least in the way I held the camera.

Very interesting... Hard to figure out, and would have been even more mysterious w/o the chain perhaps. I like the dark area at the top left. Still seems a little soft on focus, but not bad or anything. Nice work!

    Natalie,
I like this and think you have done well in creating a moody, somewhat abstract body image. The red tones, dark areas, lines on the body and framing and comp are nice. The softness to it works, does not need to be sharp in this image. This is good stuff

I always like your stuff and this is no exception, it seems almost surreal.

When i was a bout to open this page i thought, its another of her kids, where have the self portiats gone, well this has changed my mind, perhaps a closer crop might help?
though i do like it how it is.
    Sooo, do you like stuff?

the chain (bracelet) was actually the focus of the shot...it's part of a series...although this may be the only one I post(out of respect for my hubby;)) the series had the bracelet and it little heart "highlighting" different parts of the varied shots...

because everythinf was sosoft I like the coldness(hardness of the metal)...thanks for your input--may try cropping tighter...

    ;)

;) ...o.k. so you were brave and you were rewarded...with a nonkid pic...

I may try that tighter crop...and as far as self portraits they'll be back in about a year...I'm under construction as they say the next rounds should be better and a lot more fun to look at...glad to see you trying some new self portraists...more more...

Thanks...red was purely accidental...trying to convert to BW and I always check where the RGB one is at and noticed it had a cool feel and look to it...reminded me of the look in old movies where the neon light are glowing thru a motel window...I don't know...glad you like it... ;)

Natalie, It's good to hear you are feeling refreshed - its nice to be able to look at things in a new way, and be inspired, I'm happy for you
These are really neat body abstracts, had you not said it was such, the bracelet makes it apparent, I feel it was a good touch, because it gives people a sense of what they are looking at even though they might not know WHICH part! I like the color and the lines.. No suggestions, as this is a very personal piece! Technically and aesthetically though: You did good! Hope your husband enjoys the series!

Nat, I think it's one of your better pieces. Though I do love the pics of your kids, and they are very good, this one goes a bit past that. It's downright excellent! I was a little put off by the bracelet, thinking it was a bondage kind of pic, but now that I know it's a bracelet, all is good. lol The color, stripes, mood, softness, body parts, all go into making a piece of art in my opinion.
