    Alaska winter sky

I took this photo during my lunch hour not too far from where I work. I decided to to enhance the photo too much, because "Auto Levels" would change the natural shades of pink-which is what my eye saw that day-to unnatural shades of blue. However, I highlighted the shadows to illuminate the tree in front of the camera.

The shades of pink (or blue) are a natural occurrence during the winter months in Alaska, and usually happen at down and dusk.

Great colours and mood Ray! Very serene. I'm looking forward to see more of your Alaska shots.

Glad you like it. I will post some more in the near future. Believe it or not, the colors you see in the photo are natural. The clouds reflect a shades of pink as the sun breaks through. Sometimes the color changes to shades of blue.

I've been to Fairbanks twice, both times in late fall...When you mentioned the pinks in the sky, I thought back and remember seeing these colors many times when I was up there. One of these days I hope to do a late spring/early summer trip. Very beautiful capture...you have done the Alaskan sky justice...
    look forward to many more.
