Alaska Photo 4 - Arctic Tundra

From a stop along the Dalton Hwy between Fairbanks and Puedhoe Bay, which is on the Arctic Ocean. Not sure if they look a little oversharpened?

Don't look over sharpened to me.
Great place to see but imagine having to walk across that.

They don't look over sharpened on my screen either, but that overcast sky isn't doing you too many favours. The lichen covered rocks in the fore ground make the first one my pick.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I also like the first one the best

all of them seem to have a bit of bright spots in the clouds

Re: Alaska Photo 4 - Arctic Tundra

    Thanks for the comments, amigos.

I neglected to mention that this is well north of the arctic circle.

Frog, the ground/tundra is actually relatively soft and spongy. Walking across it in the winter would be a terribly cold experience for sure (actually, by the first week in September I bet).

Glad you don't think it is over-sharpened. I had a tripod packed away in the back of the travel van but didn't use it - bad boy I am. Would have been a great place to get razor-sharp images. I wonder if my lens has any film on its glass.

Pete and Armando, you guys are in conflict Overcast skies usually means low contrast, which can be good or bad depending on the overall quality of the light. But Armando did notice the sky has some bright spots, which I would think would be minimized in overcast situations. Maybe there's no ideal situation. I did have a graduated ND filter but really didn't think I needed it with the sky as it was (?) Pete, I also think the top one's the winner of the three.
