    After The Rain

I took this pic with the most basic camera as I did not have my new one at the time..it was after a spring rain in Ohio. what do you think?

Sometimes the fancy-dancey stuff isn't needed.
I think you caught the suns rays streaming down very nicely.
The bright spot at the top of the stump is distracting. Maybe someone better at photoshop would know how to fix it.
It appears to be cropped at one end or other and I think would look better if it was a little wider.

If you mean the bright spot at the stump behind the branch that is in the water? that Is part of the sunlight coming through It was not cropped but i did resize It just a bit smaller

For a basic camera you got a very nice shot. Looks like a canoe should be heading up the creek.

Looks like it was shot with a *very* basic camera. That said, good framing, angle and composition - surprisingly well metered for such a basic camera, this would certainly be a tricky shot and either your auto mode got lucky or you manually shot a good exposure. Either way , now go there with your SLR...

Good catch. Too bad you didn't have a better quality SLR camera or what not, but I think you did well considering what you had! The only distraction I see is the branch cutting across the top right, but it's not a big deal. You could sharpen this up a bit and adjust the colors using a digital file editing tool, might really come out super nice!
