    after the rain

    In the first one the focus is off and the overall scene is just too busy for me... but you more than made up for it in the second one. Very simple composition, focus is excellent. The only thing I don't like about it is the planter box edge being visible in the shot, and the tiny piece of yellow flower in the bottom right hand corner.

    You first needs allot more DOF, the second is much better but could of benefited by a better framing and maybe less DOF.

    In the first, the lighting is too harsh and the composition is very busy. The second shot is much better in comp, although a slightly tighter crop may improve. I feel both shots are too "cool" and perhaps the wrong White Balance was used. a warming filter or adjusment in your editing software could help that.

    I don't think the second is too cool and it is the nicer of the two.
    If you can clone out that planter edge, it would be great.
