    Aerial

Be nice because I'm new and fragile. ;D

HERE is a picture I took on the way to New York.

It's kind of blurry because the airplane's window was dirty, but I kind of like it that way anyway.

Definitely a decent shot. Looks quite symmetric, the vertical format is great. The window doesn't have a big effect on the shot btw, except maybe where the buildings meet the horizon.

My favorite parts of this picture of the roads & bridges. I love that even though it's a distant shot, they're still clear. I also think the reflection of the sky & clouds is nice...the patches of blue.
As far as the airplane window...I don't think it affects this too much either...to me it just looks like there are clouds close by...know what I mean? Nice shot. ;)

    Hello, welcome to the board!

Actually, I do think that the window affect the picture (a polarizer filter might have helped if you can use one on your camera) but I really like the pattern created by the various roads. I think that the scene is nicely composed.

    regards

Thanks =) I don't really know a lot about cameras, so I haven't looked into any kinds of filters and what not, I kind of just see something I like and take a picture.

Then I'd say that you have a remarkable sense for composition as a beginner. About polarizers, one of their main reason for being is that they can cut reflections for surfaces like water and glass. In this case, you could have basically removed all the reflection from the window making it almost look like there were no window.

I like the bent horizon which is so right for this shot.We try hard to get our horizons staight but this is good. Excellent that you saw a chance and got out the camera. Well done.

I failed to mention that polarizers can also be used to exagerate reflections, it actually goes in both ways which is highly useful for creative purposes. This is the one and only filter producing effects that cannot be duplicated in post processing (Photoshop and the like).

=) I wasn't even thinking about the horizon until you mentioned it, just mainly how cool the sky looked against the water and the bridges. Thanks!
