    Adriana

This was shot a few months ago. I'm revisiting it because the expression intrigues me, but I'm on the fence regarding composition. Thoughts?

I like the comp here Jim. There is a nice flow from upper right to lower left, especially with the hair.
I also like the expression very much.
The only thing i can point out that i think needs attention would be the reflections of lights in the white of the foremost eye.

    Nice work

    Re: Adriana

On my monitor her hair disappears into the background, this seems to conflict with the nicely lit face.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

Beautiful image. Great lighting, subject, comp, expression and vibrant colors. Draws my eye right to hers. I agree the right eye reflection and the BG with her hair. Perhaps a bit more detail will draw definition between the two.
    Very nice.

I like how here left arm balances her hair, the latter of which on my monitor is defined just right to my tastes. This balancing act allows for the centering of her face nicely. Nothing really to pick on here. What was your light set up?

    Re: Adriana

    Thanks for the reassurances guys.

The light setup was 3 light - 4'x6' softbox (front left center, level), fill right (softbox behind a shower curtain for extra diffusion) & kicker (above & left, 20 deg grid for hair) she's about 12' from the backdrop to minimize light spill.

I liked the expression, and was happy with the diagonal line running from top right through the elbow, eyes, ear down to the lower left, but didn't know if it was strong enough to carry the centered composition, and didn't really wnt to lose any of the long flowing hair.

    Re: Adriana

Hmm. Not sure I would have gone with the dark black background w/ her Jet, as it just looks like it was done in the studio - seems to cry for better context. Her hair is about completely disappeared too: think about a hair light. Finally, I think she's a bit over saturated, esp with that dark background.

On the plus side, nice smile and eye contact and it has a fancy feel to it. Maybe adding a hat would be icing on the cake?

    Re: Adriana

The reflections in the whites of the eyes - only nitpick from me. I love the choice of a dark background and how you can only really make out the highlights. Were it a lighter bg, I wouldn't appreciate that amazing texture nearly as much. Well done.
