I like it greg..I think if you take a quarter of the foreground out it gives you a nice sign angle down to the corner..???..
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!

Hey Greg..........one more sign between the first two, and you'd have a nice 'Cingular' commercial.

    Re: Abandoned Highway

I like it Greg - as I've said before, you have this type of Americana image down to a T. The two small things I might suggest is to clone out those very small power lines - they distract a little. Also, maybe shave just a half inch of the bottom?

Even so, it's a pleasing image - you should do an exhibition of this kind of work.

    Cheers

Thanks, Rod, AG, Mike. I removed the lines and cropped it. As always I appreciate the help. You guys are great.

    Re: Abandoned Highway

The second version does work a little better.
I think you've caught a bit of Americana here and I find myself wondering about the story.
It appears the road has been gone for quite some time but the signs appear almost new.

    Great find Greg!

I think you are off to a good start with this one. I prefer the edited version but the lighting is very harsh though. If this is a place you can return to easily, I would suggest coming at different times of the day and exploring the angles of the place. Maybe climb onto the roof of your car and shoot when the shadows from those signs are very long. Could make for some very interesting shots.

    Re: Abandoned Highway

Thanks Frog, Cindy. I guess I will let the cat out of the bag. I-75 is just on the other side of the tree line. This is an old dirt road that goes no telling where. I skewed the first sign on the left side to make it appear to face me.

    Re: Abandoned Highway

Well that explains why the signs look well maintained but doesn't exclude this from being a great visual find. I still say further exploration/experimentation with the spot would be a worthy pursuit.

    Re: Abandoned Highway

Greg - you call that a highway? Hmm. Was it really a road and not now, or is the actual highway on the other side of the trees there? Seems the signs are in too good of shape for the former.

I like the one w/o the wires better, they really dont add here. I think I would crop off some if not all of the bottom, dirt area, for the dirt road was not evident to me from the picture itself. The clouds are great but I wonder if a polarizer would make it even better?

Oops - just read the other reviews. Looks like I was right about the road on the far side of the trees.

    Second one is spot on...

    very ironic shot......

Shoot it in better lite....or even on an overcast day with a stormy sky and it goes from an 8.5 to a 10.
