Very well spotted, Tuna. Composing this shot as you did with the lawn edge at slant was right on. Good work

Hate to say it but this poor little sod looks as if it was uprooted and placed. Maybe not but composition wise I feel it lacks some interest.

    Tuna,

I can't work out whether I like this or not - I keep coming back to it and liking it and then not. The reason I think is that the sod isn't on the thirds grid intersection and I think this photo needs it to make it perfect.

What I do like is the edge of the lawn cutting through the frame and the size of the sod and the grass. I do hope you gave it a good home. It sort of reminds me of the prodigal son story when he is either leaving or returning home.

I like the idea a lot and it is similar to a photo I took this weekend. Now I need to look at that one again.

Sorry but this does nothing for me.
Its a clump of grass on a sidewalk.
Everything about the photo is good except the subject. Personal taste I guess.

The longhaired hippy grass is never going to be accepted into the neatly cropped mainstream. I can relate...

Were the hole in the turf that it came from visible and positioned well, it would make an interesting yin-yang shot.
