    3'6" - Holga...

Here is another recent Holga photograph.
I did this one while I was floating in the pool.
What do you think of it?

    Re: 3'6" - Holga...

I find this to be an interesting image, Brian. Somehow, it reminds me of the american dream, with a feeling that something is wrong or about to go wrong.
the white picket fence, the house and blue sky white clouds. . .sparkly pool water and lounge chairs give me that American Dream pie in the sky feel. But then the unusual angle of the shot from you being in the pool with the fence cutting off half the house, and the chairs of seemingly different sizes, and the tall pool light staring straight down almost as if big brother is watching. . .and , of course, the Holga effect create that "something is wrong" feel to what should be a delightful image. I like it.
To tell you the truth, seeing that there were no replies I expected to open the thread and see a dud. . .but not the case.
    Good work

    Hello Brian,

    I like this,

There is a gloominess to the picture due to the color cast, the distortion and all these "Holga's irregularities". It could be the last thing seen by a person before sinking toward death in the bottom of the pool. The overexposed area in the upper right corner adds to this, it could just be the "light". This is quite a mystical picture that probably couldn't be without an Holga.

You know Gary, this has happened a few times for me lately. Where I get no replies. I know I am not the only one that this happens too.
But it does make it hard to gauge the effectivness of the photograph in question.
Thanks for taking the time and being the first to comment on this photograph.
I hope you know it is very appreciated. I value your comments and time.
Even though I don't comment on all of your photographs I do look.

Hey Brian!! I always look at your work, but don't comment very often. I know, my bad.
I'm a fan of the Holga effects, but wonder if there are many people who don't get the concept? Just me wondering and thinking out loud. Sort of

BTW, loved the one of your son in the pool. It does almost look like you were underwater yourself when you shot the photo.

You're right about that Lara! You should comment on every single photograph you look at!!!!! ;)

I was kind of thinking the same thing, but who knows!?
I appreciate you taking to comment on this one.
Let's make a habit out of it. OK!

Seb, that is a great perception of the scene. The sight just before sinking to ones death. i can see that easily now that you pointed me to it. Adds even more interest to what i thought was already interesting. I find it a pleasure to see things through your eyes.
