    Like the dynamics of the first shot, but if it were me, I'd crop some off the top and left to get her out of the dead center.

    Centering works much better for the second shot because of the eye contact, though it looks slightly underexposed.

    A quick crop and some brightness adjustments and I think you have 2 real winners here :thumbsup:

    Both are great. Nice tones. And sharp.

    I'd like to see #1 cropped in much tighter somehow. And I'd like to see his face lightened/brought out in #2. Corrections easily made.

    Well done on both!

    First one is MUCH better! This composition gives her a sense of looking into the empty space to the right.

    The second shot could still go 1/2 stop higher exposure and 20% more brightness in the midtones. If you are not working off a calibrated monitor, it may seem bright to you already, but using the settings I suggested above, this is how it looks best to me, on my monitor (no whites or blacks are "clipped" in this version):
