Yikes! I like number 2--more symmetry.

You would probably need a highly focused light source to make it work but a spider shadow only would look cool.

It is a Canon 50D with a Canon 100mm macro lens.

Arene, I'm liking these spider shots. I would like to see hminx's shadow idea, I think that would be interesting. I do wish the background was less prominant. Not sure if there is anything you can do about that or not. I just find it dominates the shot.
