For me the first one is the most effective. I like the tip of the structure being covered by the fog. Nice blue colour in the other ones.
The thing that bothers me in the last three is that the subject is very tiny in the frame. I wish you shot it with a longer lens or got closer. Also the subject seems to be centered in all of them. Sometimes minimalism works where you have a lot of free space around the subject, but i think in these it doesn't work so much.

I m with you with the first shot. I also like the structure which being covered by the fog.
anyway.. you do a good job
MB, you know I already love your work, but the first shot here is the clear winner. The monument disappearing into the fog is so unusual compared to the majority of photographs that I've seen from a myriad of photographers. It just works and grabs my attention. The second shot has a little too much open space above it without enough interest to keep me looking. I like the third shot and the leading lines but the lack of detail in the shot overall keeps me going back to your first picture.
MB - I'm a little biased because I'm from that area and have seen/taken so many downtown shots while there, but I really like the first shot. I don't believe I've ever seen the top of the monument lost in fog before. Actually not sure I've ever seen fog on the mall (?).
As for suggestions, I would recommend trying an HDR on the bottom one, as too much is lost in the foreground using a single exp.

I do agree that as shown here the last three have a fairly small structure/subject. However I am thinking that the entire morning is the subject of the image including the morning light.
One of the limitations of this site is the size of the images we are allowed to post. I look at and display them fairly large so the subjects are actually large with plenty of detail.
