    1 dam - 2 similar shots

I took a shot of this dam with each of my 2 old cameras- 2 different orientations also.
    One of these more appealing?
I'll clean the wires out later.

second one is the best, i would of used a longer shutter speed to get the motion of the water captured instead of freezing it in action
    good work

I agree. I like the second one best and cleaning up the lines and poles will help. I like to see motion with longer shutter speeds but I think this one looks fine as is. You might also try and take out the branches, upper left as well. Nice work.

Thanks. I liked the water in the foreground a bit more in the first one, but the second one more overall.
No real manual controls on these cameras - I did set the bottom one to macro/slow - which was 1/500 compared to 1/1000 on the top one.

I wonder which color is closer to real. Whichever it is, that's the one I pick.
Also, I'm so glad you used a fast enough shutter speed to almost freeze the water motion and I wouldn't clean up the wires as they give the industrial look that is real for the place.
    Just my opinion.
    Keep Shooting!

The first. I like the hint of yellow mixed in with the blue.

My preference when shooting water is to use a slow shutter and get a nice, soft feel to the water. Composition is nice but the fast shutter is just too harsh.
