Well, i hope you dont mind, but i also imported it into photoshop and played with it...here is my end result:

The only thing im a little iffy about is that dark area to the right of the flowers....:-\

Yes, I agree. The dark area doesnt help the image very much. I took a crack at it in Corel PhotoPaint. It seems that a lot of detail is lost on the left side like the film(?) was heat damaged or something? Anyways, here it be - GB

no heat dmg'ed film, it's off of my crappy digi cam, here's the original...
