Looking for how to charge travel fees?

I am writing my contracts out.....a little better this time!

But I am trying to find out how to determine travel fees. As of now, I have not charged but hearing that I may have a wedding that is a rather far distance, we decided we need to add that in. So how much is "normal"?

First .32 cents a mile. What you charge for you time ? I am of no help there.

I normally charge .52 a mile after the first 40 miles. I state in my contract that photoshoots/weddings within 20 miles of my house are "free", but anything past that is charged. So far I haven't had any complaints about it.

Thanks. We figured out an average for our area and what works best for us.

Anything under 80 miles round trip is free..... 80-150 miles = $100.... 150-200 = $150....200-250 = $200 - Anything above $250 miles we be priced on an individual basis
