    Sigma or Pentax glass

I am considering purchasing one of the following:

    Sigma 18-125mm f/3.5-5.6 DC ($230)
    OR
    Pentax Zoom W/A-Telephoto W/ATelephoto SMCP-FA 28-105mm f/4-5.6 ($170)

    I currently have a Tamron 70-300mm and a Pentax 18-55mm.

    Recommendations?

    Thanks,
    David

    Re: Sigma or Pentax glass

    Hey Ptax,

I asked a similar question earlier on about Sigma or Pentax Lenses, and the response I got was Pentax would produce a clearer, crisper image, all things being equal.

I also asked my local camera shop guy who also said a similar thing.

    Hope this helps.

Most Sigmas are fairly good lenses. I have used quite a few myself, but they are not going to begin to equal real pentax glass, class for class, untill you get up to the EX range, and those are, for a large part, some pretty expensive pro lenses. I too would go with the Pentax version in this case.

What will you be using them for? is the main question.
