    old lens + light meter

Hello, I picked up a couple really old pentax lenses(50mm f1.7 and a 40-80mm f2.8) and the light meter on my K10D does not work with them. Does anyone know if there is a menu function or something to make it work?

It might be that the connection is loose, I have had that problem with my f/2 50mm. Also, if the apperture ring is not set to auto the camera will not be able to detect and set the apperture. If there is not auto function on the lenses then you would have to set the apperture manually via the adjustment ring on the lens, however, you can still set the shutterspeed, either by auto in Av mode, or in manual with full manual mode. My f/2 50mm has the auto setting and lets me use the lens in full auto, Av, Tv, or full manual via the settings dials.

These lenses are very old and have no auto setting so I use the aperture ring witch is not the problem. the problem is the light meter just doesn't register anymore so I have no idea what to expose to, but that you for trying
