K mount lens issue on K10d

Ok, so I purchased an older lens on eBay because it was cheap enough to justify trying it out.

The issue is that when I attach the lens, I can't get the camera to work with it. The top right indicator window only displays "F--" and nothing else.

I have tried setting the camera on all modes with the same results. The lens is also set on manual focus.

All right, I dug through my operating manual and found that on this lens I have to allow use of the aperature ring in one of the menus.

Everything is working great at this point!
