    Stylus 710 VS. Fe230

im currently looking for a good camera that can take good sports shots or anything moving for that matter and not come out like a blur. It also has to be fast with no wait in between pictures. I had a sony but unfortunatly a relative dropped it and it was finished off. The sony itself COULD NOT take moving pictures but it was fast and did have good scene modes which is a must. Iv come across the 710 and the fe230 which are both good looking cameras but i need help deciding which is faster/reliable and good with quality. thanks.

I am not familiar with the cameras you are looking to buy but I do own a FE210. I think you probably won't be happy with any P&S camera if you are going to use it for sports or moving objects. I think you would be much better off looking for a DSLR. Go to Circuit City and test drive a demo model, but if you buy one I think that I would buy one online. You can get some great deals if you shop around.
P&S cameras have shutter lag which is not good for capturing a moving target.

P&S cameras are just not made for photographing sports. I agree with Greg, look for an inexpensive DSLR. Right now the Olympus E-500 two lense kit can be found dirt cheap and will take great sport pictures. You will pay more, but your investment will last you a lot longer. You might also want to check out used DSLRs. I've seen E-500 body's only going for as little as $325.00.

I agree also, go for a cheap DSLR, you'll never turn back. The E300 has droped in price big time. Shop around on Ebay.
