Olympus EC 14 and EC 20

I am contemplating buying the EC 20 right now (2x teleconverter) and I am wondering if anyone has had a chance to play with any of the Oly teleconverters in the past and how the quality is.

Using it with my 50 - 500 F4-6.3 lens with the EC 20 would make it a 100 - 1000 F6.3 - 8. So it is a significant length addition for the loss of one or 2 F stops.

I am just hoping someone has had a chance to play with one and can give me some insight on their feelings about it.
