    Question re: 9-18mm lens compatibility

I just purchased the Olympus EPL-1. I also purchased the Zoom Super Wide Angle 9-18mm f/4-5.6 ED Zuiko Zoom Lens for Olympus Digital SLR.

Did I buy the wrong lens? Will this work or was I supposed to buy the M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm f/4.0 -5.6 Lens?

This is for use in the underwater housing if that matters. I purchased the lens from BH and they're closed today!

    Thanks!

I got the housing from BH as well. I ordered the camera elsewhere and it hasn't arrived yet.

Re: Question re: 9-18mm lens compatibility

B&H are good to deal with. I am sure they will exchange it. You could use the one you ordered with an adapter but it would slow the focus some and maybe not fit the housing. The 4/3rd version is a bigger lens, I would think.
Thanks for posting and please write a review, maybe even post some shots of the housing once you get set up.

Re: Question re: 9-18mm lens compatibility

Ratings - I just responded to your message - please check your email/pm. I just explained what to do. If the lens has not shipped, call in the morning to cancel it. If it shipped ask them if you can just refuse it (get the RMA#). If not, just simply ship it back.

Please note: The lens you want is $100 off - the sale ends TODAY!. So call them in the morning (they open at 10:00 on Sunday) and explain the situation. B&H will understand and they will give you the sale price tomorrow. Just work it out with them as they are very good.

The 9-18 is a beautiful lens. It is TINY! I was amazed when I saw how small it is. It is a wonderful lens with excellent IQ. You won't be sorry you chose the lens.

Thank you all! Well I suppose I did make a mistake! But I trust that BH will exchange the lens's.

Re: Question re: 9-18mm lens compatibility

I just ordered the regular 9-18mm from B&H yesterday for my E-30 after reading good reviews about it, I thought $475 was a good deal. Few months ago, I bought the 12-60mm which is an excellent lens but the 24mm equiv. was not enough for architectural shots. I put it up for Auction on eBay. If any of you would like to get it, here is the link:
