    IS-5 focus problem

Out of the blue, my wonderful, faithful Olympus IS-5 refuses to focus once I have "zoomed". Worth repairing or not? Anyone else experienced this? Wondering about costs to have Olympus look at it. Have changed batteries twice. It is definitely the auto-focus. Thank you thank you. This is my first post.

    Re: IS-5 focus problem

Wow, that's a blast from the past...

I have not seen a ZLR in years. I suppose if you like the camera then it is well worth fixing. However, with the advance of technology since the time of your camera it might just be the time for you to look into the digital realm. You might want to check out the E-500 2 lens kit. It's very well priced at beach camera.

I can understand if you just want to hang on to your camera, after all the ZLRs were very nice picture makers. If I were you I would see how much it would take to repair your camera, and compair that to the cost of repkacing it with a new one, or rather a used one from eBay.
