Let’s focus only at mobile game development and not consoles, since that’s a whole other market.
So, let’s compare the two major operating systems — iOS (iPhone) and Android (Samsung and more). Next, you can do some fun searching, if you own one of either device. How many of the iOS games did you find on your Android unit? How good were they compared to their iOS counterparts?
Ohh, do you mean that the marketplace is a lot bigger on iOS and that they aren’t as well optimized on Android? Hmm, let’s investigate this.
If some developer has the budget to make a game for one of the platforms, they will go with iOS in most of the cases. This is because building the app is a lot more intuitive and the app is easily optimized for all phone models.
Even some of the biggest apps like Snapchat and Instagram put out their updates to iPhones earlier than Android. It’s just an all around better marketplace.
The same applies to games, which is the biggest category in the iOS App Store. They are just better.
Basically, iPhone games are awesome. If you don’t like them, just carry around your Xbox everywhere, because you won’t find any games for any phone that are better than the ones on iPhone.
