    Washington State members/travelers

    Greetings,
I hope this is an OK posting. I haven't had very good luck with Travel Sites.
If my wife's chemo treatments keeps working we would like to visit Washington State next March or April.

With no first hand knowledge of that part of our great USA, I have started looking at flying into Seattle Tacoma.

Janet gets great pleasure from flowers/gardens etc. Daffodils are her favorite.

So far we've been looking at a loop up to Canada - Butchart Gardens and back down far as Aurora Oregon. This is by no means "carved in stone"

I have already noted to pack our passports.

If that's enough intro now for the request.

Please make suggestion for places to see AND stay (scenic motels or B&Bs).
Routes to take ... in other words share anything that you feel would be of interest to two 76 years old. (We aint dead yet!) We can still walk a mile in our own shoes.

If it would be better for Photo REVIEW please send personal email to me.

Also if you would allow a call or visit- provide your phone number/address.
    We don't eat much.

Thanks in advance to any and all replies. Norris

    Re: Washington State members/travelers

The problem is the diversity of the state from ocean and bays to mountains to high desert.
You'll be arriving at about the daffodil time and there is a large field of daffs in Puyallup and I believe they also have them in the Skagit valley. If you're a little late for the daffodils there's the tulip festival in LaConner in the Skagit valley.
Don't know what they'll have at the Butchart gardens on Victoria as its a little early.
There may be some rhododendrons in late April early May.
Kahlaloch lodge near Forks on the peninsula is well known and overlooks the Pacific.
There's also a lodge in the Quinault rain forest farther south.
I love the whole loop trip around the Olympic Peninsula. Across the Hood Canal bridge and west to Forks, then South to Ocean Shores and then East back to I-5 and wherever you're heading. If you go to Buchart you could then head west and then south from the ferry and maybe keep going south to Oregon all along the coast.
Mount Rainier is pretty iffy that time of the year with many of the places closed and those that aren't probably clouded in.
There are oriental gardens in Seattle also if those are of interest.
    There's a zillion places.
Are you interested in scenery or urban and how much time do you have?
    pm me if u like.
There's a bunch of us in Washington so you'll probably get a bunch of answers.
    Keep Shooting!

    Thank you Frog,
I'll start locating all your points on my Delorme Street Atlas so we can start looking forward to the trip.
"Are you interested in scenery or urban and how much time do you have?"
We will probably have 10 - 14 days and Janet does not enjoy riding more than 4-5 hours a day. Scenery first choice.

Let me take a look and see what info I can find on the web about your suggestions and then if I have more questions then I'll PM .

I'll be checking back when I get a chance.
March-April is not carved in stone either, let's hear advantages of later dates.

So all you other Good Apples let me hear what you suggest.
