    R.I.P Jeff Healy 1966-2008

I just heard the news yesterday, even though it is already over a week old. The great blues guitarist Jeff Healy died of cancer at the age of 41 on March 2nd. Jeff is probably best known for his hit song "Angel Eyes" and his unique playing style. Jeff played the guitar, sitting down, with the guitar laying flat across his lap. He also had a role in the 1989 movie "Road House" with Patrick Swayze.

Hey, this kind of went under the radar here in the states. I didn't see or hear much about it at all.

Yes it is. But he had cancer when he was a child. A rare form of cancer of the eyes. He had artificial replacements. He developed sarcoma in his legs and by the time it was diagnosed it had spread to his lungs and I believe other internal organs.

i play guitar, and have since i was 5 years old. this man had some talent for sure, to be able to play the guitar like that. I find some songs hard to play normally let alone sitting down with it on my lap!

yet another musical legend gone so young
