    If you’re speaking in terms of computers, it stands for Secure Socket Layer. In simple terms, it encrypts traffic between your computer and the web server.

    As far as I know, SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer-a cryptographic Protocol that provides a secure connection between the client and the server. To get it you can for example contact here namecheap.com and then you will be given an ssl certificate.
