Photography for Learning Management System Software

I am a senior software developer new to photography. I have spent my life developing a different variety of software & have no idea about photography. Let me first explain I am developing an LMS software for schools for which the client wants to take photos by myself. Can you suggest me a professional camera for the purpose? I need to take high-res photographs only.


I have tried taking photos from an iPhone the results were quite impressive but don't serve the purpose.
