Is OJ finally going to jail?

If you haven't heard, OJ was arrested today and charged with robbery, assault and burglary in Vegas.

He can't afford an all-star defense team anymore, and I don't think the Chewbacca defense will work this time. I got five-to-one that says he does go to jail.

If you heard the "victim" in an interview the day after the incident you know that OJ won't see any jail time because the victim aid OJ had no gun and did nothing wrong, it was the others with OJ. At worse he'll get a slap on the wrist, if were lucky a fine.

If you are part of a group with weapons, you are held equally liable even if you were empty-handed. If someone dies, you are accused of murder as well.

That being said, there will be minimal jailtime. Celebrities, good and bad, always get special treatment.

I just worry about Justin and Sydney, both off to college right now. They were in my classes and both very hard working and creative. I hope the media, which I am a member of, leaves them alone.

Well, he had a few days anyway. Watched his lawyer this morning who seemed very competent but he should probably fire the aide he had over his left shoulder.

Re: Is OJ finally going to jail?

So OJ is finally going to prison. Is anyone surprises? From CNN.com

Simpson was sentenced to a maximum of 33 years with the possibility of parole after nine. Before the sentence, he offered a rambling, emotional apology in which he told District Judge Jackie Glass, his voice shaking, that he was sorry for his actions but believed he did nothing wrong. Glass, however, brushed his apology aside, saying his actions amounted to "much more than stupidity," and calling him both arrogant and

Well it appears that the American society has finally got it's pound of flesh. It was payback from the non conviction of his wife and his wife's "friend" . Wonder why the adjective "friend" was always used instead of "lover" or paramour? When you get caught screwing someone's wife, then be prepared to pay the consequences of that action. The Goldman's can now cease their "crusade" of getting the Juice. Perhaps they now can disappear and go back into the woodwork. I now have a better chance of hitting the lottery then the Juice has of not dieing in prison.

So sleeping with someone's wife is just cause for that person to kill you?

Whether or not he really did kill them, he did commit armed robbery. Which is what he was sentenced for. Man, I think I was in high school when the murders happened, but I can remember the media circus that it was.

When you do stupid things, be it murder, armed robbery, or drunk driving, you pay the consequenses, normally. Had he just gone about his business, this wouldn't all be brought back up. But by his actions, he brought himself back into the public view (in a non-favorable way).

Whether or not he's guilty of murder, he was found guilty of armed robbery, which is what he's in jail for.

What you stated is true, but the sentence for that crime was way beyond the pale. Many other perpetrators of that crime or of crimes similar in nature received much more lenient sentences. Thus I stand by my belief of "payback" and "make-up". BTW, check out "crimes of passion" for getting caught sleeping with someone Else's spouse.
