The best present you got this Christmas?

For me, it would my first field guide to birds and the three Leonard Cohen CD's that my three little daughters got me

What was the best present in your stocking/under your tree?

Wishing everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

My best present was being with all my kids and grandkids at one time or another.
Tomorrow night I'm giving myself the present of taking my grandkids to zoo lights in Tacoma. They think its a gift for them....the fools.

We didn't get much for x-mas this year, being short on money and what not, but it was still a good one. my photo gear i got is listed in my thread in the viewfinder. the most personalized thing i got was a bobble head.... pic below. i also got a pair of smart wool socks, a game, and a dvd.

My daughter made the most gorgeous ceramic piece. I'm simply blown away.

I wasn't expecting much this year and low and behold my silly husband got me a new laptop. That blew me away too because I wasn't expecting it.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

I got a chance to visit with an Iraq veteran. I was able to buy him a cup of coffee at 2am and talk with him. It was a gift because I was able to be in the company of a hero.

The next best gift (and only gift) was being able to go home on time from work and sleep a whole 7 hours.... Ummmmm, the little things are so sweet...

    Happy Holidays all....

My new Lands End coat. Never really had a nice one, but now I do.

What coat did you get? I have worked and Lands End for almost 15 years now.

Best present? Both sons are home! Couldn't be happier. One lives with us right now, but the other one lives in Portland, Oregon. After nearly 2 days of flight delays he finally got on a flight and arrived at 1:40am Monday night (Tuesday morning). We were so beat, but so glad he made it home safely. He goes back on Sunday and the weather looks better for the flight home.

I did get a graduated ND filter too. And the movie Burn After Reading on DVD.

I got this one, not really a coat, more of a jacket, but plenty warm for where I am.

Re: The best present you got this Christmas?

MIL made a donation to a project I've been working on for the last year. Basically, it's a fundraiser to get more bear-proof food storage boxes installed in a National Park. This helps the bear population as much as humans and it isn't very costly compared to other projects (new building, road, etc).

But the cash was nice too.
