My other hobby, building snake cages

I know some of you think of snakes as discussing and what not, but for those few that like them will build them stuff.
here is a preview of my newest snake cage and the size is 83"L x 36" W x 28" D
these are just snap shots and just sharing.

With the bottom in and middle supports so it doesn't sag.

The front with the top and back on.

    Side view.

Now with me in the house.

I'm 5'7" for the size comparison

    Snakes are very discussing :P
What kind of snake is this one for?

I build my own hamster cages, but that's a much easier endevor (a good sized sterlite bin, a dremel, hardware cloth, and machine screws... and viola, hamster cage).

Snakes are ok but I sure wouldn't want one in a cage in my house. Different strokes for different folks I guess but when I read and see about 100,000 plus pythons in the Everglades I get upset about people taking on something they think is cool and then when it gets difficult just dumping the animal.
Knowing you a little on these forums and seeing how much quality work you put into your project, I don't think you are that way.
Your woodworking skills look very good. Once in a whild I get lucky and can put a nail in straight.
The photo documentation is very good.

Cara you beat me by a flash. I think icicle might want to do some business with you. I think he'd like to have some hamsters for play friends for his snakes.

Re: My other hobby, building snake cages

LOL, I have a strict 'my pets are not food' rule for my ham hams. When my "male" (thanks Petsmart!) had her litters, my brother offered to take some off my hands for his corn snake. I think I had some choice words for him about that. :P

The everglades problem isn't just the release/escape of animals, although that's where it started. The problem is now it's a breeding population with nothing to hold it in check. The iguanas in Florida have the same problem. Non-native, probably escaped/released pets, that are now an invasive breeding population.

Unfortunately, no matter where you are, there are people are stupid enough to think they should "let it go" if they can't take care of it. This doesn't just go for reptiles... people do it a lot with domestic rabbits, which don't usually survive very long. And a lot of idiots do it with hamsters, which if they manage to survive predation and starvation, will usually die in the winter if it's anywhere that it gets below 50 degrees. And don't get me started on the morons who dump their dogs... grrrrrrrrrr.....

Some of these Burmese pythons in the everglades are also from Hurricane Andrew a few years back, not only did home owners lose there snakes but all the big breeders who made a living at it lost there snakes. And now the USFW (US Fish And Wildlife) are starting to realize it wasn't just the people alone dumping them.

Cara, This cage is going to house a 6'+ Boa Constrictor , Besides hamsters are way too cute to be used as food.

Frog, If you were able to see and hold a bigger snake in person and really open your mind up, then by a slight chance you might have a different opinion about them.
And yes I believe in the long term care for all my animals, I have a couple dogs that lived with me until they passed away.

Once you go hamster, you never go back.

    Seriously.

I tried to build a cage for some odatria that I had years ago, it was a fiasco. It's been all boaphile style plastics since then...and these days I keep fewer snakes than I have cages for (for a change!).

My favorite hobby is golf. I have been engaged in this debate for about three years. I do not like to play in the fields with ponds.
I don’t like to play myself. It’s better to play in the company of my good friends. golf car my favorite car is low speed and stable riding I like. I buy clubs only in specialized stores and follow them like my children. I am forty-four years old and I can say that golf is not an entertainment for old people. This is exactly the sport in which I am ready to invest everything that I have. I got so excited that I began to read a huge amount of information on the Internet, the website seemed to me the most attractive https://golf-hook.com/reviews/best-g...ph-swing-speed
