How can the choice of training program impact a dog's development?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how important it is to choose the right training program for my dog. I have a German Shepherd, and at first, I didn’t really put much thought into it. I just took her to the standard obedience classes at a local school. But after a while, I started noticing some behaviors that I wasn’t sure how to handle. She became a little too excitable around other dogs, and I realized I might not have been focusing on the right things in her training.
A friend suggested trying a more specialized program, one that focuses not just on basic commands but also on socialization and emotional control. I’m considering switching to something like that now, but I’m not sure how big of a difference it could really make. Has anyone had experience with this? Does the type of training program really affect how a dog turns out, or is it just about the time and effort you put into it?

I came across a great resource recently that talks a lot about the different types of training programs and how they can affect your dog’s overall behavior and development. If you’re interested, you can check it out here: https://paw-champ.com/ . I think the right program can make a huge difference, especially when it comes to things like anxiety, reactivity, or just general behavior. It’s about finding the program that suits both you and your dog’s needs.

I haven’t had the chance to try different types of training programs myself, but I’ve seen a lot of dog owners struggle with choosing the right one. It’s interesting how some programs focus more on obedience, while others might include things like agility or emotional development. It’s true that every dog is different, so I imagine the right choice depends a lot on your dog’s personality and what you want to achieve with the training. I’ve heard that positive reinforcement methods seem to work really well for some dogs, especially when it comes to building trust and reducing anxiety.
