    Gandalf explains Windows

Recently one of my friends, a computer wizard, paid me a visit.
As we were talking I mentioned that I had recently installed Windows Vista on my PC, I told him how happy I was with this operating system and showed him the Windows Vista CD. To my surprise he threw it into my microwave and turned on the oven. Instantly I got very upset, because the CD had become precious to me, but he said: 'Do not worry, it is unharmed.' After a few minutes he took the CD out, gave it to me and said: 'Take a close look at it.' To my surprise the CD was quite cold to hold and it seemed to be heavier than before. At first I could not see anything, but on the inner edge of the central hole I saw a inscription, an inscription finer than anything I have ever seen before. The inscription shone piercingly bright, and yet remote, as if out of a great depth:

    12413AEB2ED4FA5E6F7D78E78BEDE8209450920F923A40EE10 E510CC98D444AA08E1324

'I cannot understand the fiery letters,' I said.
'No but I can,' he said. 'The letters are Hex, of an ancient mode, but the language is that of Microsoft, which I shall not utter here. But in common English this is what it says:'

One OS to rule them all, One OS to find them,
One OS to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

Ash nazg durbatulūk, ash nazg gimbatul,
ash nazg thrakatulūk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul
    .

This was originally written about Windows 98, in retrosopect one of Microsoft's most stable Windows releases. But Vista richly deserves it

Wait what? Seriously? That is nothing short of awesome haha. I don't think I'll be nuking my Vista disc anytime soon so I'll have to take your word for it.

Now let's back this train up a sec. Did you say you were happy with Vista? Is that the same as saying that you like Vista? If so, that makes you the second person I've ever met that likes Vista. The first person I've ever met that likes it is myself, and I more than like it, I LOVE it. I went with home premium 64bit, and handily enough Lightroom 2 has a 64bit flavor as well. I couldn't be happier.

    Edit:
Ok so that text appears on internet searches pretty much word for word except the version of Windows changes. This is entertaining but I'm concluding it's a good joke, nothing more. I guess that means I'm still really the only person I've met that likes Vista. Oh well..

    Edit 2:
Wow I am slow to catch on. I should have read the OP more carefully haha.

I have been using Vista for a few months now, and I like it. I don't miss my XP machine at all.
