    Flying Ants

    ARGH....

I had a horde of flying ants swarm in my room last night.

I'm spraying the windows and baseboards with Raid, but I don't know where they're coming in. Anyone know of any good deterrents?

    Re: Flying Ants

Well they're only flying for a short time looking for their queen and will be gone shortly.
The queen and her nest might be something different but depends on what kind of ant and where they nest.

    Re: Flying Ants

I thought that they are the young queens looking for a place to make a new nest. - TF

    Re: Flying Ants

mostly males looking for a winged queen which then establishes a nest after mating.
    The males then die.

    Re: Flying Ants

And in the mean time they fly into my head when I'm trying to sleep.

Don't see as many tonight, one on the window earlier. Hopefully just a late swarmer. I had a smaller amount come in about three weeks ago. I don't want to deal with them again in a month! Argh!
