I was going to post this, too, but forgot... :cryin:

Which is sort of fitting (unfortunately), as Canadian-born Doherty seems destined to be the almost forgotten member of the Mamas & the Papas.

He had neither the physical presence nor pop star noteriety of John Phillips, the striking hippie chick beauty of Michelle Phillips, nor the angelic voice of Cass Elliot.

Still, he was a great influence on both the band as well as pop music during the four years the group was together...
