    computer help

Got up this morning and the dvd/cd player drawer is opening and shutting by itself.

Any way to stop it or at least disable it temporarily?

    Thanks!

No real idea other than dismantle the computer and pull out the power lead.
My first thought would be to see if the eject button is jammed in, as on my drives it functions as both eject and load.

That's a scary thought, Paul. Googling the problem brought similar responses.
Fortunatly after running disc cleanup, spyware doctor, norton, pc pitstop, and rebooting it seems to have stopped.
Still under warranty so if it happens again, it goes back to the shop.

    Thankyou for the response!

That only happened to me once and it turned out my player was dying ( I guess it was like a last breath lol) I know yours is new so try to burn something on it and see how it works.

That's OK, there are people who can help you! Just kidding.

A warning: attacks on Macs are rising as their market share increases. Don't let the warm glow of "security by obscurity" blind you to what's ahead! Just recall, the Mac Air with Leopard was hacked in under two minutes.
