I just heard something about cooking salmon in the dishwasher a couple days ago, but I don't remember where. Public radio I'm guessing. Some friends tried to heat up some left over pizza on the muffler of a snowmobile. It didn't work so good.

    I love Starbucks Sumatra one.

I will also drink millstone vanilla flavored coffee.

My favorite drink though is Starbucks caramel white chocolate mocha with caramel drizzle on top too. MMMMMMMM... makes my day whenever I get one

Is this a fish story? Seriously! I can't imagine using a dishwasher to wash dishes after cooking a salmon!

BTW, my second favorite drink is a Starbucks Sugar-free Carmel Latte' with Whole Milk.

My very favorite is the Starbucks (not sugar-free) Carmel Latte' with Carmel topping and whipped cream. But sugar is definitely not on my diet for medical reasons........but sometimes I treat myself!

    Re: Coffee...what do you like?

Hmmm. I am a huge coffee lover. I only drink mine black, no sugar. I do not like most Deli coffees as they are usually stale and burnt. I do not care for Mcdonalds or Burger king coffees.(too hot and weird tasting) Starbucks is fine albeit a little too bitter. I really love what I drink at home. Italian Roast from Fairway. Sometimes I will grind my beans myself or have them grind for me. Brewed strong every morning. I have tried other blends as well as French Roast, Columbian, Kona, and various mixed blends, but the Italian Roast is the best I have tasted.
btw, I have British blood in me. . . and I hate Tea. Will only drink it on the rare occasion that I am sick.

    Re: Coffee...what do you like?

I first saw the Salmon in the Dishwasher technique on an old TV series called The Surreal Gourmet. I think he wrapped it in foil, but I remember that he put it on the top rack and made sure there wasn't any rinse agent (Jet Dry) in it. Then just run a regular cycle and it's done! I suppose it would be smart to run a quick cycle empty with soap to clean it before using it again! Have not tried it myself.

I remember the salmon in the dishwasher thing well .. the cook in question was Vincent Price who, as well as being a horror star, was a very creative gourmet cook in his own right.

    Re: Coffee...what do you like?

Marquis De Piava dark roast from Sams Club and I mix 50/50 with Starbucks Verona (decaf) since I have to cut down on my caffeine intake. I prefer to used bottled water but we run out of water so fast around here it's not funny. I guess that's a good thing though.

I grind the Piava myself with a mill. I'd love to roast my own sometime and try it out.

I make 6 cups and don't always drink all of it. It's probably still too much caffeine for me, but I'm not having the side effects (major vertigo) like I was last year when I was drinking up to 6 4oz espressos during the day. I think I had caffeine poisoning.

Ah, great minds think alike. What did I have to drink last year when we all went out to lunch in Chicago? Guinness on tap!

And yes, they served it too cold for my taste. Still good, though...

I found here in the US, most places don't know how to serve a stout, unless you ask they'll always serve it in a chilled glass.
I was in Germany once, and the majority of the beer I drank was Guinness, in a Irish pub, "Thirsty Nellies".
    Such memories!

I don't remember the coffee at all though...Not that, that says anything about coffee in Germany.

Sorry, but I don't drink drinks with names of more than two words. You know, like hot coffee, draft beer, vodka cranberry, iced tea, etc...

Sounds good, but part of me feels that's a bit blasphemous. Going to a town like Milwaukee and drinking imported beer... :nonod:

You know, it does say "serve chilled" on the guinness box. I can totally understand why it would be served chilled.

I know, I know, a lot of people prefer it just warmer than chilled - but too many places serve wine too hot or cold too. I think the subtlety of beverage temperature is just beginning to get the attention it needs in the mainstream. What can I say - I guess we've all been drinking ice-cold miller for too long :frown2:

How did this thread turn to beer? I like mine room temp unless its really hot outside.

Has anyone heard of Farmer's blend coffee? or if any stores carry it?
Stuck in a town yesterday and so went to a cafe for lunch...best coffee I've had in ages and so asked what kind it is....Farmer's blend...I've looked it up on web and it seems to be a product of a co-operative effort and could order it but would rather find in a store first.

Organic Sumatra from Alterra. Nothing else shall pass thru these doors.

That's the one I'm sticking with. I thought I'd be able to experiment a bit, but man, does it screw with your day when the coffee is bad.

    Re: Coffee...what do you like?

I get Dunkin iced at home, espresso out. But now I bought a super nice espresso machine I would also probably going to buy one of these brands https://www.perfectbrew.com/reviews/...brands-review/ to make it at home some times.

For the first morning coffee I find espresso can be a bit rough on my stomach and I prefer to pour over or Dunkin iced.
