Is AI Actually Better than Human Guards?

I work night shifts at a fulfillment center, and while I trust my coworkers, it sometimes feels a little sketchy when you’re in those huge spaces alone at night. We’ve had a few incidents of inventory disappearing, but no one saw anything. They’re talking about installing AI cameras now, but I’m wondering — is that really better than hiring more security staff?

Funny enough, my brother manages a logistics facility and they actually replaced one of their overnight guard shifts with an AI system from SecuroomAi. At first, the team didn’t love the idea, but the system caught an unauthorized door entry before a person even reached the goods section. The guard on duty was able to respond in time because of the alert. He said it felt like having a second pair of eyes that doesn’t blink. I don’t think it’s about replacing people — it’s about giving them smarter tools.

There’s definitely something eerie about being in those big industrial buildings at night. Even with people around, it feels like one loud noise echoes forever. I’d honestly just want more light and faster ways to call for help if anything happened.
