Well I finally did it...

I finalyy took the plunge and bought my first DSLR. I have a used Nikon D70 coming my way in the next few days. I found a body only on ebay for 231.99 plus taxes and shipping. All in all it was 275.99, which included a 1gb memory card and two batteries. it doesn't have a strap so I will have to pick one up before Christmas. I know its not the newest camera out, but I think I can do what I want to do with it.

So it looks like my set up is going to be:
D70
50 1.8D
18-70 AFS
SB 600 or 400.

I don't shoot sports to reach isn't a big concern, and the main lens I am used to is a 28-90mm. I am so excited I can barely think straight. I have been battling whether or not I should even stick with this hobby. Seems like whenever I had the money to buy the camera I wanted something would happen. My car would break down, or the bills needed paying. I can't wait to get out there and start taking pictures again.

Congrats! The D70 was my 2nd DSLR camera, and I loved it until the CF pins needed to get replaced. I then sold it to my buddy for the cost of repairs.

A few months ago my wife wanted to step into the world of DSLRs. So I got her a used D70, and she loves it!

D70s was my first camera also! Looks like you have an excellent setup, can't wait to see the results.
